ANZAC Day 2017
Tuesday April 25, 12:00 pm - 11:55 pm
ANZAC Day is a sacred day. Our diggers are remembered and stories are told, often in one of the traditional pubs scattered throughout Sydney. The city’s small bars become an afterthought as the cocktail shakers are swapped out for a schooey of classic Aussie ale.
Why can’t we have both?
You can! Opening the big green door at 12pm, you’ll be greeted to a cheer from the The Rover Two-Up arena. The cocktail menu will be in full swing so you can double fist a $5 tinnie of your grandads favourite beer and an Australian Whisky cocktail specially crafted for ANZAC Day by your favourite Surry Hills neighbourhood bar.
Does your competitive spirit go beyond the Two Up arena? Want to create a legacy by having your very own engraved tankard hanging from the ceiling for years to come? Enter into The Wild Rovers very first, and probably last, CENTURIONS competition! Participants will gather around the bar upstairs from 1pm to take on ‘one hundred shots of beer in one hundred minutes’. Entry is $40 and includes the beer and all you can eat pies during the comp. To enter, email firstname.lastname@example.org or simply rock up on the day.
Freshly shucked oysters ($1 before 6pm), Four n Twenty Pies and of course the *world famous Wild Rover spiced lamb or vegetarian sausage rolls.
There truly is something for everyone.
Peter McKernan and Buskerman are stepping off the street busking circuit and into the bar as they bring home the night busting out tunes as you celebrate your two-up winnings and commiserate your friends after taking all their money.
* Not world famous but so tasty it bloody well should be.
