The Boilermakers are back!
Mikey ‘The Barley Cowboy’ Lowe (Wayward Brewing) and Sean Baxter (Classic Malt Whisky Ambassador) are pairing their hooch for a one night only tasting celebrating Sydney Craft Beer Week 2016.
Commonly referred to as a ‘Boilermaker’, a beer with an accompanied shot of whisky has long been the favourite libation of bartenders across the world and now more people adopting The Rover’s favourite booze combination. However, some beer and whisky pairings are better than others so let Mikey and Sean take you through the journey they took to match two different products hailing from opposite sides of the world.
Adding to the taste sensation that is the ‘Boilermaker’, we’ll be unloading a variety of bar snacks upon the room to go along with each Boilermaker pairings. A twist on the Wild Rover’s famed lamb sausage rolls will be featured… What other culinary delights will make an appearance? You’ll have to come to find out.
Wayward Brewing opened the doors to their Camperdown hangout in late 2015 after gypsy brewing across New south Wales during the four years prior. The Gehrig Lane brewery has grown to become one of the most popular in Sydney with their unique fit out in an unassuming pocket of Sydney’s Inner West and their cracking rotation of beers made in the warehouse backing onto the bar.
Sean Baxter is a favourite at The Wild Rover and the bar industry abroad with the incredible ability to educate, drink and crack an abundance of jokes in one sitting. The host with the most booze owns the palate behind past events at The Wild Rover including’ Whisky & Cheese’, ‘Whisky & Chocolate’ and other tastings as part of their whisky club – The Whiskey Co-Operative. Why not throw beer in the mix?!
