This May, Sydney-siders will be treated to a week of Old Fashioned style and substance thanks to Maker’s Mark as the harbour city’s best bars celebrate the inaugural Maker’s Mark Old Fashioned Week.
On Wednesday 18 May, in the midst of Maker’s Mark Old Fashioned Week, participating venue The Wild Rover will host the True Maker’s event – an intimate conversation with career handcrafters; artist Anthony Lister and surfboard shaper Simon Anderson.
Maker’s Mark is borne out of tradition, and the signature red wax is hand-dipped on every bottle at the historic distillery in Kentucky, so the handmade touch is a philosophy that means as much to the bourbon brand as it does to these true maker’s:
- Simon Anderson is an Australian competitive surfer, surfboard shaper, and writer. He is credited with the 1980 invention of a three-fin surfboard design, called the “thruster”, which remains the industry standard.
- Anthony Lister is an Australian-born painter and installation artist. He has had solo exhibitions across Australia, United States, Europe and UK. He is notable within the Lowbrow (art movement) and is best known for his iconic street art all over the world.
Join Aussie TV icon Danny Clayton as he sits down with Simon and Anthony to hear about their career achievements and how they have hand-made their personal brand, over a Maker’s Mark Old Fashioned cocktail. Listen to their stories and join them for a good old fashioned chat afterwards.
Limited tickets available through Ticketbooth for $25*.
*Ticket includes a Maker’s Mark Old Fashioned cocktail on arrival and light snacks.
Presented by Maker’s Mark and The Wild Rover. Visit the Facebook event page HERE for more information and updates.
