Wild Rover Oyster Fest 2019
Monday October 28, 4:00 pm - Saturday November 2, 11:55 pm
From Monday 28 October to Saturday 2 November, we’re throwing a celebration you’ll be shucking crazy to miss.
Your local Surry Hills neighbourhood bar, The Wild Rover, has been dishing up oysters since 2013 and the week dedicated to those little suckers is fast approaching with the 3rd Annual Wild Rover Oyster Fest kicking off at the end of October.
We’re dishing out $15 a dozen OYSTERS all week, along with a whisky and oyster tasting and live music to bring it home. Last year, we dished out over 11,000 oysters so we’ll be loaded up when the big green door swings open from 4pm each day of Oyster Fest and we’ll be serving them all evening!
In spirit of The Wild Rover being a whisky bar, you’re invited to slurp down Sydney Rock Oysters from some of New South Wales’ best oyster farms while tasting five expressions from the famed Scottish Coastal distillery, Talisker. The whiskey masterclass will showcase how a dram such as Talisker is the perfect accompaniment to a plate of oysters. Australian Oyster Coast’s Paul Ryder will co-host the night to share
The aptly named Flying Seamen will be busting out live music on both Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd November to close out the week. The band will be belting out tunes from 6pm-9pm so don’t be surprised if you find yourself dancing like Michael Flatley with a Talisker high ball in one hand and a Sydney Rock Oyster in the other.
Mark your diaries, the doors will be opening from 4pm each day with a fridge full of oysters from some of New South Wales’ finest estuaries ready to be eaten. See you at the bar!
